About Hawa Mahal

Hawa Mahal, or the Palace of Winds, is one of the most iconic landmarks in Jaipur, Rajasthan. Built in 1799 by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh, the palace was designed to allow cool breezes to circulate throughout the building, providing relief from the hot desert climate. The palace's unique architecture features a series of interconnected arches and windows that create a ventilation system, allowing cool air to enter and warm air to escape. The palace has five stories and is made of red sandstone and marble. It was built as an extension of the City Palace and was originally used by the royal family to watch street performances and festivals. Today, Hawa Mahal is a popular tourist destination and a symbol of Jaipur's rich cultural heritage.
